Ants are making their way into homes this time of year. Thankfully there are natural pest control methods to help you cope with and eliminate the problem. Plus, many of the solutions use what you already have in your cupboard!

Dont worry. you can get rid off ants with few simple and effective home remedies. Some of the home remedies to kill ants are listed below:

1. White vinegar

White vinegar is considered to be effective home remedy to kill ants. Simply you have to spread white vinegar in areas affected by ants and you will get rid of ants in minutes.

2.  Lemon juice

We just spray around the openings with pure lemon juice … and it always works for us … something about the acid messes up their sense of tracking.

3.  Cucumber

You can use cucumber to get rid off ants. Ants dont like the taste of cucumber. Placing small piece of cucumber in ants affected area will force them to leave your home.

4.  Cinnamon Powder

In the similar way you can spread cinnamon powder on the path followed by ants. This is considered to be effective way to march ants out of your house.

5.  Garlic

Place garlic in areas where you have seen ants enter, such as in window tracks, by doors and in corners around your home. While garlic cloves aren’t as aromatically pleasing as cinnamon sticks, they work really well. Just peel and slice a few cloves and place them where you notice the ants.

6.  Bell Pepper

Sprinkle black pepper where you see ants. The ants will immediately scatter. Pay attention to where they run; chances are they will be exiting your house and you’ll be able to treat the entry area with pepper too.

7.  Soap Water

Spray soap water on the entry points of ants as well as cabinets and other areas. This is another effective home remedy to get rid off ants permanently.

8.  Peppermint Oil

Another best way to check ants entering your house is to spray peppermint oil in all the room corners, kitchen and cabinets.

9.  Bay Leaves

Placing bay leaves across the tracks of ants is another effective way to get rid off of Ants.

10.  Baking Soda and Powdered Sugar

Ants carry an acidic substance with them always for protection. I do a mix of baking soda and powdered sugar in a plastic lid set in strategic places. I think a little volcanic science experiment happens inside their bodies. Over the course of several days, it has made a huge difference.

11. Coffee Grounds

I have had success with used coffee grounds, I did know where their entry was, after putting it in the cracks they never returned. I also do know it doesn’t kill them, it just makes them move homes, (we have put them on beds outside and we just see them pop up a small distance away.

12.  Chalk

As Ants will not cross a line drawn in chalk, My grandparents had really good results with the line of chalk, they used powder that you can get at home improvement stores. It comes in a squeezey bottle so it’s easy to lay down a line with.

13.  Cream of Wheat

Cream of wheat! They eat it & it expands & they explode! Ha! I used it in my garden for ant problems. Kind of makes you wonder what it does to our insides when we eat it too.

14.  Boiling Water

For serious anthill problems in your yard or walkway, pour boiling water over the anthills.
